In this article I’ll show you how to delete unused storage from Microsoft Azure Storage account which will save you money at the end of the month.
What many Administrators don’t realise Is that when they delete a Microsoft Azure Virtual machine they are only deleting the VM not the actual storage (.VHD) attached to it.
You can also manage your Microsoft Azure storage using Storage explorer and PowerShell.
To delete unused storage go to the Portal and click on Storage account
Click on the account
Click on blobs and review the attached blobs ( make sure they .VHDs are not being used).
To delete the storage account and all unused blobs, Tables, etc Right click on It and click Delete
Copy the storage account name to confirm
Done
