To gain access to a secure FTP server using a user name and password please use the following syntax
ftp://user:password@host:port/path
Example:
ftp://user:password@myserver.com:21/folder
With Firefox browser there is no need to enter the password as it will prompt for it.
The port option is not mandatory if the FTP server is using the default port number.
