Question:How To Enable Circular Logging On Exchange 2010 DAG

This week I found out that backup was failing on one of the Exchange 2010 Servers and the Log folder of the database was 700GB in size.

Since there were so many log files the Backup application couldn’t backup the database and disk space was about to run out.

In order to save the day and make sure backup can start working again and clear all the disk space back I had to enable Circular Logging.

This is the process to enable Circular Logging on Exchange on a DAG:

Do it after hours if you can

There is no need to dismount or mount the DB

Just tick the box to enable Circular Logging and click apply

Once Ticked, The DB will stop replication for a few minutes while it clears the logs.

Once cleared, DB will reconnect again and start sync.
