How to Configure Microsoft Defender With Microsoft Intune

In this blog post, I will show you how to configure Microsoft Defender on Windows 10 using Microsoft Intune.

With Microsoft Intune, we have the capabilities to control and manage almost any component Windows 10 operating system.

In this blog post, we will touch on the built-in Microsoft Defender security suite that includes Firewall, AV, Smart Screen and more.

Get Started

To get started, I will start with creating a configuration profile by clicking on Devices, Windows Configuration profiles and create a new profile.

In the Platform option, select Windows 10 and under Profile type select Endpoint protection.

To configure each section, click on the option and use the controls to manage the configuration.

Once a configuration has been put in place, the end-user will not have the option to change the configuration.

Use the assignment option to select the group; however, it is recommended to deploy the configuration to a pilot group first before rolling it to all users.
