Make Custom Permissions Available in Azure Information Protection

In this blog post, I will show how to make custom permissions available with Azure Information Protection and protect document.

Azure AIP

With Azure Information protection we can protect any document and require the user to authenticate before viewing the protected document.

AIP can stop forwarded emails with document to be shared with users outside the organisation.

Before you start reading this document, make sure you view my previous document on how to enable AIP.

Get Started

Below, you can see how an AIP document without custom permissions look like, I can only use the built in functions to sign my document.

Enable Custom Permissions

To enable, custom permissions on AIP I will need to modify the global policy, to do that I will click on Policies under Azure Information Protection

From the polices page I will click on Global

To enable custom permissions, I will enable \ turn on the Make the custom permissions option for users

Once the change has been configured, I will see the Custom Permissions option in the AIP client in Office, excel, etc.
